TRUSTT-" Total Restitution Using Simple Techniques & Technology"

As the name suggests we strive to solve social problems with simple technology and our latest offering is the 'WATER ECO 'N MISER' foot tap intended to make water conservation easier and enjoyable.

Ever wondered how we, the average Indian can contribute to saving precious water, without compromising on lifestyle, so that the millions of underprivileged can benefit?

Look at your own life style? The sink is where the maximum 'savable', 'potable' water is wasted. All because we cannot operate the tap constantly while we shave, wash or brush our teeth, since our hands are otherwise occupied.
What a colossal waste !!!! A foot tap gives everyone the ability to save water.

After identifying the importance & utility of a foot tap, we scoured the market & realized that what was available was too expensive and scarce for mass implementation. So what we set out to achieve was re-think and re-engineer an existing product and make it cheaper, easier to install and simplify the whole thingamajig.

We have extensively tested and refined the foot tap for more than 9 months. We started installations 4 months ago and we have about 200+ installations in Bangalore and is being used by commercial (hotels, hospitals, medical testing labs, offices) and residences (apartments and independent villas). All our references have been word-of-mouth which speaks for the reliability, utility and feel-good-factor of the foot tap.

The cost of a 'Watermiser' foot tap is just Rs.700 (model with PP foot pedal). By comparison a commercial foot tap (mechanical) is priced at around Rs.3500.
An InfraRed tap, essentially has more snob value and is not an after market, retrofit product which is where 'WaterMiser' foot taps are positioned. So a comparison on any front would be unfair.

We feel we have achieved our core goals with WaterMiser. Now its fate & the resulting benefit is dependent on the conscience & social commitment of the people.

FACTS ABOUT WATER CONSUMPTION IN BENGALURU

Present per capita water supply: about 100 to 125 liters per capita per day (LPCD) National Standard 150-200 LPCD for a city of the size of Bangalore.
Per capita availability of water for vast majority of poor people: about 40-45 LPCD.

At 150 LPCD as standard, current demand is 900 MLD (Million Liters per Day) for a population of 6 million.
But BWSSB is able to supply only about 810 MLD. Shortage of 90 MLD

A majority (90%) of the water supplied by the BWSSB comes from the river Cauvery which is pumped over a distance of about a 100 km over a significant gradient at enormous cost for power etc

Optimistically If even 20 LPCD is saved, it means a saving of 120 MLD. This would wipe out the deficit and also increase availability of potable water to the poor.

NOTE: These details may be different for other cities, but the situation is equally grim everywhere.

All it takes is an oath
" NEVER TOUCH A SINK TAP"

TESTIMONIALS
MALINI RAMANI- I was so distressed whenever my 8 year old used the sink. But I could not "SHOW" her how to save water. After WaterMiser, there is no need to explain. She has to, as do we and all our guests. THANKS
NGO POST - "appropriate technology at its best - simple but so much sense! my sincere compliments.",
NGO POST "Very interesting innovation!!"
FAROOQUE - NO MORE EXCUSES. I always put off trying to save water after trying half flush etc. Now I don't have to do anything. But the WORST PART is that I am soooo used to it, I look for a foot tap everywhere.
A.N.MITTAL - Water Conservation just became easier and affordable. I like the fact that it can be fitted to an existing sink with no breaking or replacing involved.
